You guys gotta be kidding me if you guys think this is "significant differences" and "my blind mom could tell the difference in a pitch black garage"
Let me illiterate. E90 and F30 clearly look different. Sure, they tweaked the bumper here and there, but the car body is still very similar. If you look at the E46 M3 and compare that to the E92 M3 they are completely different. F30 335 vs E90 335 |

Yup thats how I feel all along. The move from E36 to E46 was a evolution, to round out the rough edges in a way. The E46 in effect was a matured E36. The E92 was a huge jump from the E46, a revolution instead of an evolution in terms of design. The F80/F82 that followed is more of an evolution of the E9X design language mixed with current corporate styling trends. Don't focus on the minute details and such, focus on the overall design theme, and you'll find the F80 a matured version of the E90. However, I have to say the window silhouette of the F80 looks almost identical to the E90. Did you know the F80 uses the exact same door handles as the E9X? Its even stamped E9X under the handle on the F30/F80 cars, take a peek next time you have chance. Hopefully this will put things into pespective, the Bangle era cars (E9X, E60 etc...) were really ahead of their time in terms of design. You see the cues pioneered by him almost universally accepted nowadays. Although in a watered down, and much more widely appealing ways. E36 E46 E92 F82

I quite like the old e9x interior, everything is cleanly laid out and the amount of chrome and gimmicky trims are minimal.

also, you are comparing the e9x interior with the boring, cheap stock zsp steering wheel, while the f80 has those m-sport/m3 wheels. not a fair comparison, especially with those nasty burr walnut trims......................... but again, these are just our opinions after all.

Still rather bulky (but I think its ok on a larger sedan like the f10) but much cleaner lines. Not my favorite wheel either but still ok. I find it interesting how much people talk about the exterior design of cars but hardly ever the interior, which is the part we are looking at all the time. Honestly I really dislike most of the designs from the "bangle" era (even though I've owned a few). However the interior I do kinda like from that time is the e8x which kinda reminds me of the e46. Wait sorry... wtf was this thread about? |
