Power Steering Loss??! Sudden Failure just now...
Not sure if this is the right subforum; happy to move if it's not.
I was just out with my buddy who wanted to learn some car control with this northeast snow in his new jeep. Brought my Xi and winter set which normally does fine through whatever. (This is light powdery snow anyway). All went fine, but as we left I went and did a few donuts in the thick stuff at the lot. Got a little caught up so clutched in and stopped. Went to start moving again and power steering was gone. Got out to check it out and knocked off the snow, checked the motor and belts were fine. Was a bit of smoke but that subsided - may have cooked a little clutch trying to power out of the muck before I gave up. Back on the main road at speed, steering was fine, so I don't think it's snowpack in the rack/arms on anything. Can't really scope for leaks cause it's all wet. Any ideas?? All are welcome. I'm stumped and this is the daily so kinda screwed here. Again.

Not sure, would that do it? I was sliding around out there. Trying to diagnose, but wont be able to get it looked over until next week.
Any best way to tell what I've done without picking it all apart?
