MiniDSP 2x4 Balanced... can't solve issues
Hi guys!
After 2 days of struggling with the MiniDSP, I'm now hoping for help here. - E92, Navi Prof, HiFi-Coding - Hifi-Upgrade: JL Audio XD600, Eton-LS vorne, AS-LS hinten, SWS8-Subs I wanted to install a small DSP, so I went for the MiniDSP 2x4 Balanced together with MiniDC-isolator. Hooked everything up, and it worked like a treat! No noise, no humming, everything was fine! Even on loud volume, no clipping! Just set up the crossovers till now. Unfortunately I have the problem, that sometimes sound turns off, and comes on again after some minutes... How I hooked everything up: - before: HU -> Amp -> Speakers (worked always without problems) - after: HU -> MiniDSP -> Amp -> Speakers (connected as Balanced) What I already tested: - looked for loose contacts - redone all RCA cables - only hooked up front channels on amp - tested all possible jumper combinations on MiniDSP - tested connecting as unbalanced (bridge over S and -) - resetted and reconfigured MiniDSP several times - tested with external 12V supply (still no sound, but humming noise in speakers) At home on my stereo the MiniDSP works without problems (as unbalanced)... So I don't think it's faulty. Also funny: While I don't get sound, I can connect with my notebook to the MiniDSP and see all input and output level-meters moving. May someone help me out or have any idea what I could do? Thanks! |

what are you using for a remote turn on to the amps?

I take directly the remote-wire from iDrive, which goes to the MiniDC isolator (has a really sensitive treshold), and outputs a delayed remote to the amp. While I get no sound the amp and MiniDSP still remain on, so I don't think it's remote-related...

Try to connect miniDC remote input to constant +12v. Then you will know that problem depends or not on remote.

Can you post some screen caps of input and output levels during one of the cutouts? Have you checked charging system voltage during the cutout happening, or in general?
