Newbie Confused with iPhone compatability

Hey all,
Firstly.... Apologies, I'm guessing this has been covered many times before!

I've bought a 2011 320d ED which I pick up this coming weekend and have been looking into the conectivity options of my iPhone (5s currently).
I'm not sure if I can just use apple lead in the usb slot, need a Y cable or if I can purchase a media snap in cradle to get extra features on the larger sat nav screen.

I know it has professional nav with bluetooth, under the armrest there's space for a snap in adaptor, a usb and aux in sockets.

I've decoded the VIN and found this spec - please advise me what my options are and what integration I can get!!

Thanks very much for the reply!! Thats great news
Would the snap in adaptor give me any more usability over the cable or just be same but with a nice dock for the phone to sit in?

Well I picked the car up and was surprised to find... No usb under arm rest 😖
I'd looked at a few different e90's that day so must have confused it with the one that had the smaller nav.

So with the options above from my spec if I get one of these combox things would it be a fairly easy fit or would it need to be coded etc?
