Team MFactory Review

After doing a few events last year (Auto cross and road course), I made the decision to shift my focus more towards tracking than the street. I noticed the lack of traction and the sloppiness in the rear end. To remedy the issue, I knew a LSD and new bushings were needed.

Big thanks and shout out to Stephen over at MFactory Competition Products for delivering an excellent product and the matching customer service!

Items installed:
MFactory Helical 3.08 LSD
PowerFlex Black Subframe Bushings
Delrin Differential Bushings
BA Differential Brace

Initial response
Felt the same on the streets (I'm a law-abiding citizen). Also, no clunks when putting the car in gear or gear whine while driving (was expecting some noise because of the bushings). Nothing but smooth operations on the streets. Then, I went to accelerate getting onto the highway and immediately felt a difference ! All I could say is wow with a grin on my face.

Now I'm approaching 500 miles with the unit and I'm still in love with it. The increase in traction is everything I hoped for and more. Accelerating, cornering, and exiting all greatly improved making the car more predictable and fun to drive. I do get some whine at highway speeds, but it's no biggie. Like I stated before, this car isn't a daily and I was expecting it due to the bushings I've chosen. Overall, MFactory customer service, quality, and price make this a no-brainer...this is a must have item period. Even when I uninstalled my Cobb the car was still fun to drive. Plus, there's a 30-Day money back guarantee if you're not satisfied (you will be), so why not.

Thanks for the write-up! I'm also looking into an MFactory LSD as my next mod.

Should finish my install this weekend (slow but sure DIY). MFactory helical LSD and AKG black subframe/diff bushings.

Looking forward to the magic.

Thanks for the review!

Good choice! My mfactory LSD has made a huge difference.

Both Mfactory and Quaife are helical LSDs. I have had my Mfactory LSD for about 9 months and love it. No more wheel spin! Very competitive pricing as well.

Can they make custom gears for the manual gearbox? First two gears are waaaay too short.

I would ask them. My LSD has a final drive ratio of 3.46 (like an automatic) rather than a 3.08. Car is super quick off the line.

With the crazy amount of torque my car is making after my protune first 2 gears are completely useless LOL it would be amazing if they could make them a little taller. 3rd gear is also sketchy when all the torque hits but warmer weather should help.

We can make custom gears for the transmission, yes, but it won't be cheap (due to 1st/2nd requiring a new mainshaft to be made) and would require at least 10-15 confirmed buyers.

On later build automatics they use a smaller pumpkin. The internal differences mfactory would have to answer for you.

Pretty much. Top speed (mt) vs acceleration (at) gearing is the way I look at it.
