Strange behaviour on rear left corner
My E92 320d M Sport have developed a strange characteristic very recently..when turning left, only ocassionally when going uphill and on slightly uneven surfaces, the rear left wheel feels like it is hopping quite severely, almost similar to the feel of wheel spin on a wet road (you can feel the surface is smooth but the wheel is hopping up and down).
Now..I know I have a very small bulge on the inner wall of this tyre and I have recently replaced the ABS sensor on this corner however I'm sure the bulge wouldn't cause this really as it is too small to have any significant affect, although I may stand corrected. Anyone had anything similar? |

Okay I'll get the shocked checked briefly tonight..rears are coming to the end of their life and don't do much high speed driving so may get away with waiting a month or so before changing them, also considering going to 18"s yet..
Another way I can describe the sensation, every time I hit a man hole cover one the left rear, it feels like the rear of the car shifts to the left slightly..even on ones that aren't sunk.. It's far worse if the cover has sunk a bit |

Just seen this if it feels like the cars kinda of hoping on the rear (lose disconnected)perhaps look at the state of the rear lower bushes these wear causes various symptoms you may going slow over a speed hump hear a slight squeak.... just a thought
Re rear shock perfectly feasible for leaks(if no leaks are seen check resistance) remember the rear left of the car takes a fair amount of abuse compared with the offside rear |

Okay well thanks again, I tried the 'bounce' test last night and it looks a lot like the rear left shock has gone..
Back right bounces down and straight back up, back left bounces up and down a couple times before settling Going to look at replacing them with some Koni FSD's and eventually get some Eibach Pro springs to help try and lose the awful ride Thanks again |

Yep this. Get the tyre sorted ASAP. Rear Shocks are ridiculously easy to change on these cars. It will be the rear passenger side, bounce the car from the open boot & it will be very different to the other rear wheel (Faulty side very bouncy). |

Will be doing both rear tyres and shocks as soon as I can afford, shocks are first as it's gotten very bouncy at that corner now!

Did you changed the shock mounts at the same time? If so what did you change it to? Considering taking the chance and uprating them given that I'll be fitting Koni FSD's on the rear (will be doing the fronts when funding is available)
