Non-Nav Radio Switches from Ipod back to FM randomly

I've been having an issue with my 2011 335 (non nav or logic 7) since I bought it a year ago. When listening to spotify on my iphone (5 and 6) the radio will randomly switch over to FM. At first I thought it was the Y cable, so I tried a bluetooth adapter that has the y-cable built in. After It kept doing it I brought it to the dealer and they've replaced the USB port in the console and it's actually worse now. The display will typically say "loading Ipod" when this happens. It'll happen several times in a row or not at all for several weeks. HALP

something similar but different was happening to me too. I would drive home listening to Sat or usb drive, get in the car the next day and the fm radio wouild be on. For mine it was just another gremlin associated with my battery needing to be changed. Went away with the new battery.
