Common Mechanical Failures on e90

hi guys,

new to the forum. just got a 2010 335xi coupe...

i searched around... but didn't see any.. i seen HPFP.

i am 70k miles just wondering what preventive maintenance i should do?

is there list of common failures of parts in our cars?

For starters, water pump and thermostat for the engine will fail by around 100,000 miles. I'll let others chime in for other things to look out for...

Valve cover gasket and also valve cover tends to crack. If you do a search you'll notice it cracks in the same place for most of us. It should really be a recall. I'm replacing mine now

Ignition coils tend to be an issue. One of my cylinders was misfiring. Replaced it with a new one. This spring I am going to change all 6 when I do the spark plugs.

Look up my DIY on it.

Also OFHG will fail.
And get a walnut blast done.
Or at least get a borescope done on your intake ports to see if you need a walnut blast.

any one know about CDV replacement? do i need to bleed the clutch..

or can i just pinch the cable while reinstall.
