Changing engine oil from Oem to Mobil 1 advice

Hey guys gonna start doin my own oil changes and will
Be doing them more frequently . I have decided to use mobile 1 0-40 . Is it ok to just dump the Oem oil and fill
Up with Mobil ? Should I put through a engine flush ??!

No engine flush, If you kept up with oil changes there's no reason too, plus I've heard horror stories on other cars with those flushes.

Just buy Mobil 1, and on the jug it should say compliant with BMW LL-01, and buy a Mann oil filter. If you're doing your own oil changes, buy a bulk pack of the filters from ECS or somewhere online IMO

Just stick with oem oil no gains or point in switching to another motor oil

Just dump and fill. Know plenty of people running m1. Using Motul 300v myself.

I would stick to oem but the dealer are asking $28AUD for 1 litre bottle

2007 335i  [0.00]
Oem oil is 5w/30 Castrol. Depending on your location 5w/40 is a better oil. It has a better temp range.

I notice my car runs about 10 degrees color on mobil 1 euro compared to the oem castrol oil

Also guys how important is it to torque the filter cap and drain bolt ??! I was gonna use the old school method hand tightening / common sense ??? I mean I'll go buy a torque wrench if need be
