who has even tyre wear??

Can any of you who had change to non-RFT tell me if you have even Tyre wear? did you get alignment done? OEM setting?

I installed Birds Suspension kit last summer and when my MoT came, all 4 tires had inner tire wear. I then went on holiday and last week i took it to my usual alignment place and had the usual custom setting done ( near enough 0 camber and 0 toe i think), and the car feels terrible to drive now.

It feels unstable at high-speed, some kind of whistling noise suddenly popped up. It feels crappy during corners...im just scared now/

I am looking to get another alignment done, does anybody in Surrey, west or north London, Hampshire or surroundings recommend a place to get this done?

Thanks

That's because you don't want 0 camber.
I had even wear on my e36 which had -2.5 camber and a little bit of toe in.

Because roads have camber you can't run with 0 camber.

I know my experience wasn't with an e9x but get some neg camber put back on all wheels and some toe in on the fronts (Toe in helps turn in)

Since changing to Non-Runflats, I have had a set of Conti 5P's (39-41psi), and a set of Pilot Super Sports (36-38psi), both had, have perfectly even wear. 19" 8.5 & 9.5 ET 35 Rims.

Std M-Sport suspension, geometry as factory (never been aligned), it does have a Quaife fitted, never has rear passengers, or weight in the boot, so no excessive cambers.

HTH

Michael.

My original Bridgestone runflats wore badly on the inner edges.

The Pirelli runflats didn't and neither had anything else since.

Dude - I've been using http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/ ever since my 1st car (Lexus IS200). One of the founders "Dr Tony Bones" is well known as a suspension/setup guru, and had custom settings to stop IS200s from getting uneven wear - he basically applied his knowledge to do custom setups.

They use the best laser alignment machine in the biz, Hunter IIRC, plus they have "The Boss" touchless tyre machine if you ever wanted tyre fitting. That coupled with knowledgeable staff used to doing motorsport setups (last time I was there, there was a Ferrari F430 race vehicle with slicks on being prepped).

Took my 335i to him ~2 yrs ago and difference was night and day. No more uneven wear (non-rft 19") and felt more planted whilst having better turn-in - am due to return for front tyres & re-alignment so could org a little meet there (Lexus Owners Club meets used to be held there as loads of room to park).

Strictly speaking they're in Buckinghamshire though, so maybe too far for you.

The chap who bought my IS200 was from Essex though, and he said he's been back to WIM twice as the IS200 setup was so sweet! Plus they do reasonable price for tyres, and always inflate with Nitrogen. They p!$$ all over Krap Fit n the rest.

If you look on their website, that's Tony Bones standing at the Hunter machine on the LHS pic.

Even found my old IS in the gallery of the club meets section:

So you didn't check the alignment when you switched to Birds?

And which company agreed to 0 camber 0 toe for your car?
