E90 Boot subwoofer
Morning All,
Struggling to find the answers on the forum but i'm looking into audio upgrades and rather than go down the Earthquake underseat root i'm thinking of putting a Single sub in the boot. However my concern is that because i don't have a ski hatch or folding rear seats is it just going to be a waste of time and the sound will be excessively muffled. I cant seem to find a definitive answer as most of the threads ive found the E90 has the ski hatch and folding seats. |

will be fine, the boot wall isnt that thick/insulated. ive done one before and it was fine, sounded fine. older bmws were very very insulated in the rear seat so that was a prob for them but you will b fine

Take a sub in a box.
Then put that in another closed box. What do you expect? And b/w you answered your own question.

That was exactly my thoughts but just seeing if anyone had ever done it and what it sounded like. Getting abit desperate to upgrade the sounds so looking at cheaper alternatives to get it done quicker |

Can you lose the rear shelf speakers , not sure if that would give any extra air flow.

Try it. Might benefit some other members. I have fold down seats option and made a carpeted back board to hold 2 12s firing towards the boot. Sounds good to me.

Ideally didn't want to start cutting into or removing sheet metal. Was just wondering if there was enough holes already there to allow the air to move through.
I may well just try it out when i get a chance, currently looking to source an aftermarket headunit, this will make adding a sub somewhat easier |
