Best coating for Jet Black BMW?

I just picked up a jet black BMW and I am probably going to get it detailed this spring. On my last BMW I had opti-coat 2.0 applied. It was really nice, made things easier to clean, and was somewhat more scratch resistant (although not entirely). However on this car, I want to get a better idea of what other options there are out there. What product looks the best on Jet Black? What the closest to "real wax" in terms of appearance?

I used GTechniq C1 and EXO V2 on top of it, looks great, though it's still dull compared to just waxing with Einszett or Menzerna Power Lock

Just curious, how long have you guys been seeing the coatings last? My opti-coat 2.0 car is kind of not beading water as much anymore, but its been about 4 years. I guess thats pretty good.

In most cases, contaminants on the surface will prevent the surface from beading water

From what I have seen, CQuartz will help darker colors. I have not seen Gloss Coat yet.

Going two years on my parents Durango coated with opti 2.0

About every 6-8 months I do a citrus wash, and iron out, light clay. Brings the beading back up (not quite where it was at the beginning, but still looks good).

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to break out the two buckets sometime soon. Despite having gone through my usual automatic touchless wash twice in the past week, I still have a film of winter on my paint. Maybe you are right about the contaminants.

Either way, I never thought opti-coat 2.0 made my BSM car look all that amazing. It didn't look bad, but it lacked a bit of depth I'd say.

Has anyone seen both CQUK (or finest) and also the new Optimum Gloss Coat on Jet Black? I'd be curious...

Is it ok to use one of these products if currently the car has swirls?

Its best to polish out the swirls before you put a coating on it. Because the coatings last a long time so you will always see the swirls under it.

Seen the Gloss Coat on a black Honda. The coating didn't add much to the overall appearance IMO. CQUK tends to darken the color a bit while giving a glass like appearance to the surface.

It does this to light color cars as well.

I too am a fan of CQuartz UK or 22PLE as they always make the car look very glossy and pop, whereas GlossCoat doesn't look as great, but still makes the car look good. We mainly install CQuartz Finest, OptiCoat or 22PLE.

The absolute best combo is to start with chemical buys black light, then wax it with there 50/50 paste wax, Then finish with chemical guys hybrid V07 sealant/ detail spray. If anything the V07 is the best detailer I've ever used and I'm obsessed with detailing so I've used allot of products
