To extended warranty or not to extend warranty

This week I'll be buying my first BMW!!!

2011 E90 328i w/ 27.7k miles on it

Still have a factory or CPO warranty through June of 2016. I have the option of adding one more year of warranty on.

After spending the last week on these forums, it's sounding more like a good idea to get it.

Thoughts?

Find a good independent repair place, and put the money for the extra year in a CD.

For roughly $2700, I got a rear brake job and oil change. The fronts and an oil change at the indy cost me < $400.

This is an extended warranty, not the service plan/maintenance.

From 4/50 to 6/100? That's what I wasted my money on.

My car is coming to me with a 6/100, I have the option to buy an extra year. I haven't got the cost yet. Current warranty lasts until June of 2016.
