Just ordered some new rear tyres

Well my rear Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetrics (265/30/19) have lasted a mere 9 months/9000 miles.... I hardly ever drive like a teenager but I guess having 593nm of torque and the inadvertant spin you get on occasions has helped their demise.

So, having just ordered a new pair of rears i thought i'd mention that tyreleader have a good deal on the Fulda SportControl in 265/30/19 at the moment- just £78 each delivered.

They, according to internet writings, are made or owned by Goodyear and seem to get pretty good reviews in magazines, have a noise rating of 'A' (69db), a wet grip rating of B and fuel rating of E (which is the same as many top brand ratings get). So worth a punt at £78 i felt.

Tyreleader also have Uniroyal Rainsports 2 at a mere £85 ish each too, although i went for the fulda's as although the rainsports would likely offer slightly better traction, they were much noiser @ 73db and rolling resistance is greater (noise confirmed by many reviews) and so economy is worse. They still of course are worth a go at just £85 for this size of tyre!

Ok will do - the Goodyear Eagle F1's were quiet, handled very well but couldn't keep the power down in the wet - slightest bit more than a feather of the throttle when turning out of a junction and the rears would spin. Same if in a straight line up even a slight incline - plant it and they would spin and start stepping out.

So it will be interesting to see how much worse, if any, these fulda contactsports are.

Are the above remarks relating to when the tyres were new or worn?
