M4/RS4

Yesterday around 3:45 on the Garden State heading north about 2 miles south of the Montvale Service area. I'm doing 80 in light traffic. I see two cars coming up REAL FAST in my rear view. The first has a M bumper, can't tell what the one behind it is. I move into the right lane as they pass. The first is a white M4, the second is an blue 04/05 RS4. As they go by, the Audi pulls into the right lane and just walks away from the M4. I knew that the 04 S4 was a beast. Didn't realize how much faster the RS was. I had passed a X3 with NY plates a minute earlier. If you're reading this did you catch the beatdown?

A stock 2004 rs4 or s4 will never beat an m4 in acceleration or handling. Maybe the audi was tuned...?

They never made an 04/05 RS4, only 06-08 Sedans available in this country but I can't see a B7 S4/RS4 walking an M4 unless it had a serious amount of work done; the NA 4.2 V8 puts out less power in a heavier car.

99-02 B5 S4 , now that I can definitely see possible, easy to make one fast these days.

I agree with what's been said above, NA didn't have any RS4's in that period, has got to be tuned and loaded with goodies if what you are describing the scenario as "walks away from the M4"

I'm guessing at the year, but I know what I saw. The Audi pulled away and it didn't look like the M4 was letting up.

I feel like it would have to be highly tuned to 'walk away' from an M4 at those speeds. Maybe it was a 435i with the performance parts?

RS6? They made one with a charged V-8 that could be a monster if tuned

The BMW was definitely a M4. I did some searching this afternoon. APR makes a supercharger kit that makes over 600 whp on 93 octane. I don't know what the RS4 had under the hood, I just know I was doing 80, the M4 blew by me and the Audi looked like he was shot from a gun.

Even a supercharged RS4 wouldn't pull that hard on an M4 trust me. It may have been a tuned RS6...
