OCC Diagnosis
So I installed an OCC, after having to remove the intake box and replacing it with a cone filter. I feel as if I lost some boost because of this. The connections are sealed fine, and I used some 300psi heater hose. I'm thinking this is the culprit as it might be compressing and restricting vacuum. I do have some nylon braided hose available, I just didn't put them on because they won't.
The hoses are all 5/8" ID, and the catch can is from 42DD. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem/solution to this? Thanks

You mention loss of boost. Did you get data on this specifically (and i'm not one of the BMWhat, Torque, etc techies by the way) or are you saying it is not accelerating the same way it did prior to mod?
Is it a royal pain in the butt to switch back and see if "perceived problem" disappears? I had an SES come up soon after installing my catch can. I thought it was related to the little clip that completes the circuit at top of ribbed hose. It turned out to be the MAF connector. This connector doesn't "click" like I would want to hear when pushed into socket. I just push on it about once a week to make sure it is still seated. |

I run the Torque app every now and then. I usually stay consistent at 26psi under full load, the past runs after the OCC install it's been at 18psi max.
All my connections were solid.

I reinstalled the OCC, it boosts fine now (I think), but still feels pretty sluggish. The car hesitates for about a second when I go WOT from regular driving, then it starts to go.
The nylon hoses and the rubber hose I have has the same internals, and the rubber is just slightly more compressible. The location of the can is right next to that intake thing above the fan, and behind the headlight. The hoses make a decline into the respective outlets.
