BMWhat Problems
I have both the BMWhat app and the BT OBDII Adapter and they have worked fine since purchase until this morning. I was able to check for faults and successfully reset a couple of minor faults this morning but when I attempted to check Parameters the app advised that Parameters could not be read by my OBDII adapter. I have never had this problem before.
I did uninstall the app and re-install but no luck (I am running android). I have an email out to the programmer so we will see what they respond with. I was curious if anyone else has had similar issues with BMWhat? Perhaps a recent software update? While I use Torque daily, I only infrequently use BMWhat and don't think I have used that app for a month or so and I can only point to that rather large time window to suggest the onset of my problems. |

I only mention this because it threw me for a loop when I changed phones, but are you sure the BT adapter is still paired/added to your android?

Just an update - Fired up BMWhat a couple of days ago and Parameters was working fine again. I have a sneaky suspicion that when I detected the problem that I neglected to start the engine (just had the ignition on but unstarted).
Note that it was not the absence of live data that suggested a problem but rather the message from the app indicating that the BT adapter did not support Parameters. At any rate, all is good again. |

I run BMWhat with their wifi adapter on iOS. To monitor parameters, I always need to reset the phone and unplug/replug the adapter.
The other issue I see is that I can't monitor or log parameters for a long period of time (<5-15min). Anybody else experienced/fixed these issues? While I run via wifi, it acts the same with Bluetooth on or off. |
