adding a sub/amp to individual audio

I read through the sticky and I didn't really see an answer for this. one of my oem subs blew, so now instead if using the underwear subs, I'm going to add my own in the trunk.

I want to use a cleansweep, but should I also be using a summing interface with it? I honestly don't know anything about what the summing interface actually does. What does it do and do I need it?

For reference, I'm going to be using my Hertz Mille 12" and an Audison SRX-2 amp.

You need just an Audiocontrol LC2i.

Don't know what that is. Why do I need it?

Edit: looked it up, it is what I need, but how is the quality compared to the clean sweep?

You do not need any signal correction for a sub and the Cleansweep requires a full range signal.

Perfect, even better, it's way cheaper than a cleansweep lol

Don't you make a harness for the individual system? If so that would be a good idea along with the lc2i.

I don't want to control anything other than an aftermarket amp/sub, so I shouldn't need a harness for anything...

What Is the harness for? If I'm just adding, why do I need a harness

With a harness you do not need to tap, cut or splice any OEM wires.

Please search for details. Plenty of threads.
