Tire Review? Dunlop Direzza DZ102 vs Falken FK453

Has anyone installed and/or reviewed the new Dunlop DZ102? I am getting a new set of tires (235/40/18 & 265/35/18) and this new tire is within my desired spending range. I've used the FK453's before and was happy with the performance but wished the rears lasted longer. The new Dunlops have a 460 wear rating vs the Falken at 300. I know manufacturers can play with these ratings and usually the ratings are only good within the manufacturer. That said, the DZ102 is rated 460 whereas the older DZ101 were only 300 so perhaps they do last much longer.

Thoughts? Please share!

Haven't heard much about the 102s other than they're a bit soft in the sidewall.

I do have some experience with the FK453s. Not the best tire I've run, but definitely a good tire for the $$. I'd purchase again.

Soft sidewalls? I definitely do not want that. I want immediate reaction upon turning the wheel and want wheel protection. Soft sidewalls do not sound like they'd provide what I desire.

FK453 is a much better tire. Better and quicker response and side walls are stronger. Perfect tire to go with if your planning to stretch your tires.

I am in the exact same boat as you, in for more info!

edit 1: I decided to try out the dunlops to see if the tread life is as good as they state. I will have them mounted in a few weeks and hopefully remember to follow up with my impressions.

edit 2: The dunlops were backordered and went with the FK453's. Once mounted I will give my impressions.
