e90 LCI M-sport fog light question

So, I have 2011 e90 335i x-drive m-sport and I was looking to change out the bulbs. After some research it pointed me towards H8 bulbs as replacements and so I went ahead and bought some GP Thunder replacements.

Well I went to replace them today, open up the back of the bumper and they arent H8's. The connector and bulb actually say HB4. I had gotten in a fender bender so to speak years ago and had some front bumper work done.

So my question is what is my car supposed to have?

9006/HB4 bulbs. I did the same thing when I bought my bulbs online. For the non-m sport bumper it's the H8s. 9006 and HB4 are the same thing so make sure to get the right ones this time. lol

Well at least I wasnt the only one to make this mistake.. Which HB4's did you go with? I am looking for a white to match the Angel Eyes/Xenon.

I went with the best HIDs on the market in my opinion. I got the Morimoto HiD Elites. They have an excellent rating and will last for a very long time. Kind of expensive though at 150-165 depending on options. Heres a link.

Not correct. M-sport is HB4/9006 bulbs. I know this because I first bought H11s and they do not fit.

Just saying, I was in your shoes just 2 months ago and this the info I found when I did my search.... A quick google search of "e90 m tech fog lights bulb" will show you the exact same... Idk why a h11 wouldn't fit for you

I went with some tec 9006 HB4 Cosmos Blue White halogen bulbs, 65w 4750K on mine after trying the H11 type out on my motorcycle.

Color is about as white as your going to get on a halogen bulb.. I looked into HID and/or LED bulbs, but then you run the risk of canbus problems. The halogen bulb is plug and play.

These are some pics from when I tried thm on the bike. The outside bulb is the MTEC and i have a LED strip for DRL right towards the low inside part of the headlight. Color match is almost 100%
The dark blue bulb is the MTEC, the other bulb is the Osram Nightbreaker unlimited.
