Rattle affecting bluetooth?
Allrite fellas,
2007 328i sedan with 8994 miles. A few weeks ago, I started hearing a faint rattle from the passenger side door / glove box, have not been able to locate it yet. Initially I figured it was something in the map pocket that was going around. Emptied the car and the rattle still exists. Sounds like a dislodged plastic part. Very faint when you are in the car. However the problem seems to be very loud when I am using the bluetooth. Anyone on the other end complains that they hear the rattle and it is annoying. Has anyone else faced this problem, this would make it easier for me to locate. Any suggestions on what to look for? Does someone think the mike might have come loose or something? Thanks in advance. |

Ok I narrowed it to the sunroof button/ BMW assist/ light console. The noise is not a rattle, sounds more like crackling plastic covers or someone popping multiple bubble wraps at the same time.
The noise does not happen when the car is stationary, well unless you push the whole piece with your fingers. What could be causing this issue? I want to say interference, because when I am in the car, driving or stationary I cannot hear it, but the person on the other end can. |

You probably need to get that whole module replaced; I don't think the parts are available separately. If the dealership won't cover it under warranty, you may be able to mitigate the issue by felting the joints between plastic pieces. |

Any why would the dealer not cover it? It was factory installed. The only addition was the security system installed by my original dealer (who happens to be 150 miles away, ED, got a cheaper price with him). |

![]() Replacing the module is a pretty radical solution if you're paying for the parts out-of-pocket, but if the dealership would rather throw parts dollars than labor dollars at a warranty repair then it's their concern. |

the microphone is actually separate from the module.
you can lower the module and check to see if it has come out from its holder. just look for the DIY V1 install, it should give instructions on how to remove the module. |

And the problem get's nailed down. I think.
Before I decided to go medieval on the BT system, I took my brother's RAZR for a drive around the block and guess what the nose is gone. The RAZR which works on Tmobile had some interference, but the noise that was bothering me is now gone. If it helps, I have a Motorola Q with Sprint. I think I have nailed down the problem, if that does not work, I am opening the BT system and looking at the mic. Thanks fellas. |
