rattle noise after Cp-e DP

hey guys anyone know what is this noise i noticed after dp fix direct in pp performance garage , exhaust checked by exhaust shop and they did'nt recognized from where ,, anyone have an idea

The new pipes are said to be thinner than OEM . People have said it needs to build up some carbon soot to quiet down . It normally happens after downpipe installs. Also , your wastegates could be worn too, but people with fairly new turbos have experienced it too.

That would be the dreaded wastegate rattle.

Noise dosnt happen on startup, only on when revving down near 3k. Wouldn't be wastegates on idle rev would it.

Characteristic wastegate rattle occurs when completely letting off the gas & decelerating, usually most noticeable between 1000-3000rpm. I've definitely read of people with WG rattle only on startup but I'm not sure that it's a manifestation of wear or failure. If you're concerned, search here & n54tech for wastegate threads. There's definitely an algorithm you can work through if you want to hold off on the dealer/indy (see one of the links below). You can also do a quick adjustment of the rear turbo actuator (which is reachable without removing any engine components: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176269)

I'm going to the dealership this week for eval of turbos & walnut blast. Reaaallly hoping to get new turbos - I bought my car in November (windows up in winter!) and I've only recently realized how bad it's gotten. Hopefully my Route66 warranty pays for itself soon
