Removing E92 Upper Window Trim (Powdercoating)
Hello,
I have a 2011 E92 with the OEM shadowline trim. The upper trim (the painted aluminum part that goes above the driver's side window) is starting to corrode under the paint and it's starting to become visible. I was reading some DIYs on removing the trim and in some of the pictures, I noticed that the rubber seal was actually attached to the trim. My question is: Has anyone removed this aluminum trim from an E92 and had it powder coated gloss black? Reason I ask is because I'm pretty sure powder coating requires the thing to be heated up to a high temperature. Is there a way to remove the rubber seal from the trim as well as the plastic clips so they don't melt? Also, it looks like removing the upper trim is as simple as just pulling it off. Is this true? Thanks |
