Discount Tire Lifetime Rotate & Balance

Just thought I'd share some useful info. I had my tires rotated and balanced for the first time today. I decided to buy the Discount Tire lifetime package. I think it's a great deal - basically they will rotate and balance your tires for $80 for the life of your car (or as long as you own it). You can do it as much as you want, literally once a month if you wanted to. Bearing in mind that each rotate and balance costs about $20, I think its great...

sounds like a bargain........but here's the catch.......

unless you buy something from them at the time of balanced/rotation......
they'll make you wait like hours....i mean hours....just to get your free tire balanced/rotation...
that is to deter you from going there every month to get free balanced/rotation

They do it free if you buy the tires there, but I didn't. I bought them online. So far I've never had to wait more than 1 hour, I've been going there for years (multiple stores in the Houston area).

Yeah I bought tires for my Integra from there a few years ago and anytime I was in town I got them rotated if it was time. You have to watch out though because the Discount Tire Centers are franchised and I think also regionally different organizations. That is, I don't think Discount Tire in Los Angeles is the same as the one in Bellevue.
