Emissions in Chicago - MEHHHHHHHH

I need to go in for emissions in the next couple of months and as you can guess, I'm running catless dp's. Does anyone have any connections to someone at a testing facility in the Chi area who's known for being a little lenient?

And I've read about the DP fix and there seem to be some horror stories about dialing it in correctly. Let me know if I'm wrong, but I don't feel like driving around for 500 miles to get the "readiness" to come back on.

I'm in the same boat as you. Don't think I'm throwing any codes with the Cobb tune, so we will see how it works out.

I haven't done any emissions on my BMW with Cobb as of yet. However my Subaru had Cobb stage 2 on it and it passed fine.

I'm the OP who made this thread. I had a local guy install the downpipes fix for me. I switched to Map 0 on my JB4 and followed this walkthru on getting the readiness monitors all set to pass emissions.... And I passed emissions first time. That said, you can have all but one of your readiness monitors working before you can pass. Follow this exact process to get your readiness monitors up and running (I had to go find some back roads to get mine working)...

I believe anything before 2000 you can have two monitors not ready and after that one monitor not ready. My fathers X5 has has a bad cat for a while. Drives fine and I passed emissions. I did the procedure above and make sure the cat is not ready obviously or a Check engine would light up. I have a scan tool so I check right before going in. I once passed and when the guy turned on my car and told me I passed it came on. He started laughing and said you passed while chuckling. Old school trick is to take off battery and do the same but with technology these days a simple 20 dollar tool can do it and can check codes and monitor everything.

My friends 600hp catless with downpipes passes emissions. As long as you plug in a scan tool and says everything is okay like monitors are ready you'll pass. They do not check for anything else like in different states.

Would this work without the downpipe fix?

Either remove the downpipes or install a dp fix. No other way around it.
