BMW X6 or Explorer sport
So for less I can get newer and less miles Ford Explorer sport. Tune and exhaust and I'm over 400rwhp. Cheaper maintence but I think the X6 still looks alil better.
What do you guys think when you compare the 2. FYI I'm talking 2010 X6 vs 2013'explorer sport

I have a '13 Explorer Sport. Its a great highway hauler... both ass and stuff. That being said, its built like a Ford. Stuff rattles, Things are plastic, panels dont fit like a german car, any dealings with the dealer are a pain in the ass, etc... Biggest issue I have is with the panoramic roof, the fixed panel would rattle constantly. Dealer is finally replacing it, if Ford will ever send them the parts to do it. Been waiting 3 weeks now...Mechanically, its a fine car so far, and it'll definitely be cheaper to deal with than an X6 and probably also haul more stuff (and it will seat 7 in relative comfort). It handles better than a regular exploder, but its no sports car. Brakes are pretty good. I've come to live with Sync and My Ford touch. The voice activation really isnt that bad once you figure it out. When I got mine, they were fairly uncommon, now it seems like they're are just as many of them around town as there are regular explorers.

If you want the X6, get it. But its hard to justify it with logic. Its purely a "I just want it" type of thing. The Explorer will likely be more reliable, much cheaper to maintain and have more room. It doesn't give the same "image" if thats important to you, but you can easily make that up by spending the 25k in other goods, if it is. |

I would get the Explorer. The x6 is almost 6yrs old and with age comes maintenance, unless the prior owner has records to show everything is up to par. Also the updated Explorer may have a few of the issues fixed. But I don't know when those go on sale. Last edited by DocWeatherington; 04-18-2015 at 10:16 PM.. |

I had a Explorer as a rental last year, it was nice and I liked it other than the Sync and no audio jack for my Zune. Lots of room (compared to an X6) and look nice to me. I don't like the X6 look and the new Explorer's do look good.
