Upgrading bluetooth or adding S6FLA to 2006 E90 w/ NAV?

Hey folks,

I'd like to upgrade my car as I'm going to need to keep it for another year or two and would like to get away from plugging in two cables every time I get into the car. Ideally, I could upgrade the bluetooth so that I could stream music through bluetooth rather than the aux cable. Right now, I typically plug in micro USB for power and aux for sound as the car's bluetooth only handles phone functions. Alternatively, I could add a S6FLA USB port that would let me play music and charge through a single cable.

My car is an 2006 330i with the following factory options (decoded via VIN).

Attached are two pics from the trunk of the wiring under the floor panel.

Thoughts?

What are you planning to do by "upgrading Bluetooth" ?

Since you won't be keeping the car for long, I'd say to add the 6FL to enable USB Support.

Like I said, I want to stream audio over Bluetooth. Podcasts, music, etc

Is that an option for my car or does that require a hardware upgrade?

what phone do you want to use to stream ?
factory bluetooth streaming will be available to you only if you replace your CCC navigation with CIC (LCI) unit and replace your TCU module with Combox module. This will cost around 1K

Anything Android. At 1K it is not worth it.

Is the S6FLA still an option for my car?

Is it as simple as buying the S6FLA kit and doing the coding or are there other things I will need because of my car's build date/contents.

You can get a Kinito BT audio dongle, or something similar for ~40 on amazon. Check that it does apt-x and you'll get adequate sound quality.

Is the CCC the overall software that runs the car? The one that takes ~6-8 hours according to the dealership to program?

I haven't tried the Kinivo, but the one I used was virtually the same. I had an annoying hissing that I could hear that drove me nuts. I thought a ground loop isolator would help solve that, but it did not.

The installation time for cars with SA 644 is approx. 2.0 hours, and approx. 2.25 hours for cars with SA 640. The installation time will be approx. 2.5 hours for cars without SA 640 or SA 644. This may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it.
So my car has neither 640 or 644. Will this still work or do I need to get one of those as well?

You already have VO 640. Well the pre-wire for it... When coding the vehicle you could add these.

you car has 639 option which is US version of 640 option. You can get MULF2HIGH module off ebay or local car breaker and order USB Audio retrofit kit wiring new. Or dissect USB Audio wires and socket from broken car too.
