Finned Differential Cover Update

As many of you know, I was in search of a finned differential cover to compliment my MFactory LSD. Because the cover had to be sourced our of Europe I got tired of waiting for it so I went ahead with the LSD installation without it. Additionally, I was not 100 percent certain the finned cover would fit given it was from (non US model) European spec BMW. Well today I finally made a gasket template to make certain the bolt holes lined up correctly, which they did. And before someone gets the bright idea of suggesting that I just should have just ordered the two differential gaskets, they are no longer available. What I did discover today while being underneath my car was with the template is that two of the fins on the cover would interfere with the exhaust pipe so I have to have two of the outer fins removed. My only other concern at this point was if the mounting point for the rear bushing is in the same place, and after taking as many measurements as I could, I am fairly certain that it is. Fortunately, I have a machinist friend who owes my a few favors so I will see if removing the two outer fins is something he can do, if not, I will be doing the slow old fashioned way.

I also retorqued the four subframe bolts, as I had installed the Whiteline subframe bushing inserts a few weeks ago, lets just say it is a good thing I checked the torque on the four bolts!! I also discovered I had a little bit of seepage from one of the stainless steel brake lines I had installed, I think I got that fixed too.
