German Maestro Underseats

Hello All,

Has anyone installed German Maestro SWF8012HE in their E9x?

How do they compare to the preferred woofer choice(Jehnert, gladen)

I am in the process of choosing components for my upgrade (Base stereo) I have not had my car long.

Many apologies if this has been covered...I did search to no avail.

I would appreciate a few pointers from the experts.

cheers

FYI

This is the only install I have seen here for the Maestro requires modifying the enclosure.
There are some good comments about it from VP.

They are suppose to be like Jehnerts with the low range of Earthquakes.

If I was doing a base system install now the Gladen/Mosconi system has some good reviews
above. The Mosconi has plenty of power(120 watt AB x4) and built in DSP, Helix just came up with the 6 DSP
which has 6 channels at 120 watts and 2 extra DSP channels though.

Thanks ctuna for the info, I should've searched a bit more. I did see the new helix p6 DSP, I would like to use that dsp. I have done installs on other cars but never anything like the E90. I have hertz hdp4 that's only 6 months old I would've liked to utilise.

I read the post about micro precision tweeters also.

I was thinking the helix p6, micro precision tweeters, dynaudio mids and German maestro woofers. So the woofers aren't a direct fit as their website claims?

I would believe whatever VP says on this.

I would believe whatever VP says on this.
As he has the best BMW audio shop on the
West Coast and one of the two or three most recognized
pro installers of BMW systems on this forum.
Unless this is different Model or this is another version with
different dimensions.

It says on their website you need this RE80-1 BMW for the optimal fit http://www.german-maestro.de/Englisc.../Subwoofer-EN/

I wonder if this is a solution to VP's findings. I can't send any pm's at the minute so hopefully he might see this and shed some light on it for me.

I will ask the member in the link. I wanted to know if there are any other speakers that will fit other than the tried and tested packages, like the helix p6 dsp is new and is a possible solution over the MS8.

cheers.

The Jehnert underseats are a true audiophile speaker

The Jehnert underseats are a true audiophile speaker
The xe-200s very accurate and warm .
Not lacking in bass but not a true bass heads speaker.

VP's quote on the German Mastros
"This is not required for all cars - The E60 and E83 are two we know this isn't needed in (with the right adapter), and we doubt this fits in the E70 at all (tbd). This approach is for the E90. We will be testing an E92 and hopefully an E82 soon to see how this will work there. "
Fits in some BMW's not all without modification"

I don't know how there doors are but they fit in the coupe
and some of the others don't.
There are quite a few 3 way plug and play sets out now but
it really hard to demo any of this stuff at least around where I
am. Jehnert , Diamond Audio , Gladen and MBquart as well as Focal.
I never see anything but Focals in the local shops and I think
they are overated.

The stuff you had mentioned for the doors I think is on a higher level
I think 6speed coupe of Unexpected Creations uses those sometimes.

Get with Don, (6spdcoupe) since he's much more easily and readily available. Barring the Helix P6 DSP, they might have something else that may work.

As an afterthought, to that phone conversation I had with Ken I am thinking that possibly indicates that the enclosure developed leaks due to the extensive modification

Enclosure Mod

What did he say he didn't like about them?

The link that ctuna posted on VP's install didn't look like he had to do a major mod on the enclosure, It only looks like he had to router 10mm off each side...did he ever change them out for something else or was the problem fixed?

cheers
