Its pretty simple if you take your time and mistakes dont discourage you. I did mine with 3m di-noc carbon and the only complaint I have is that i couldn't get rolls with the same pattern direction. When I am in the car I don't notice it and I have never had anyone point it out in person... just on here . The vinyl is extremely sensitive to heat guns so i'd actually recommend a hair dryer instead.

I constantly get comments on the wrap as recent as this morning at cars and coffee Madison. It's worth the work.

3M 1080 is definitely the way to go. Did mine and a friends a couple weeks ago. His 135 in black CF and my 335 in matte charcoal metallic. Looks so much better than the wood IMO. There's a ton of videos out there if you want to tackle it yourself. It really isn't too bad, just takes time and patience.

Very interested! How is fit net on the ashtray? I had my old e90's trim wrapped and the ashtray always got stuck.

I've done my whole car inside trim and rear vents center console etc. I used 3M DiNoc + 3M adhesive promoter after sanding them down a bit. (It'll never go back to stock)
It turned out great. I did it about 3 years ago.
Let me link you to my Flickr pics.

Fitment on the ashtray can be tricky as it is tough to get apart, but if you take everything apart down to just the trim pieces and put it all back together its simple and helps lock it all in place. The key is just taking the time to take it apart properly. The ashtray also has some adjustment too it and can be slid all the way forward to avoid any rubbing or sticking on the back side. The 1080 is so thin it doesn't cause any issues.

Not mine. I take everything apart and fold it nicely around the corner. Even cut out the chrome piece that's on the ashtray so it looks oemish

Hopefully link works. This was one I did 2wks ago. The customer didn't provide enough wrap so the middle section was done the other way compared to the dash and steering wheel. He was aware of this and didn't really bother him

3M DiNoc in a e93 convertible. I live in California and the top is down 90% of the time and it's hot here.
