Anyone with Lexus CT200 hybrid
Hi all,
Our Lexus CT200 which was bought about 5months ago requires an intermediate service (engine and oil filter) now after ringing couple of local dealers its around £200 which to me is a bit too much. So my questions is has anyone had theirs service by Lexus by supplying their own parts hence only paying labour charges ? Just don't want to be frowned at if I ask the dealer this same questions which is quite normal in BMW dealership nowadays. Thanks |

Do not have a Lexus but with BMW's you can service the car at a VAT registered independent garage provided you use original parts to maintain the all important warranty.
Im quite surprised the car needs a service after 5 months. You must do a lot of miles? Last edited by The0pportunist; 04-23-2015 at 12:33 PM.. |

Just checked on Lexus owners club (lexus forum) that the price of servicing is fixed regardless of which dealer you go to and I've checked that with Lexus website and it is £195 but that does include quite a few checks apart from engine oil and filter. |

I know you said that you wanted to stick with Lexus servicing but I'm pretty certain the CT200h is essentially a much plusher version of the Toyota Auris HSD. Have you tried quoting from a toyota dealership? It might be cheaper, my bro in law gets his IS serviced at toyota and says it is. Also when he has purchased parts from them before they come in toyota and Lexus packaging.

On a slightly different note, it looks like my 320D engine consumed bits of my turbo, and, thus, I don't want to throw any more money into my car.
I've been looking at the CT200h as an option, on lease: Many of the reviews state that it's a bit gutless: I have to admit, I'd miss the torque going back to petrol.... How have you found it? |

Lexus labour charges are worse than BMW's....I have no idea how Lexus dealers have such a high 'customer satisfaction' scores. I can only assume the majority of owners are of the older and wealthy generation, so are happy as long the service is provided with a smile.
Lexus want £300 for a simple oil on our IS300H for it's first service. I'm taking it my local independent (The guys who did most of the work on my 335i). They'll source 'genuine' Lexus parts, which as some one has already mentioned, are essentially Toyota parts, but with Lexus stickers on. The 'hybrid-drive' unit has no serviceable parts (apart from coolant change at 100K), so doesn't need to be touched. If your really paranoid you can pay Lexus to do a 'battery health check' for £70, but it's likely a waste of money The hybrid-drive is probably one of the most (if not the most) reliable drive trains around, I've never had to get anything repairs done underwarrnty of any of my previous 4 Japanese cars, I don't expect the Lexus and Nissan we currently have on the driveway to be any different ![]() http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/29/t...s-reliability/ |
