I'll be there the same day you are.

Some recommendations:

1. Stick with stock pads for your first couple events.

If it's your daily driver you will thank me. Racing pads will squeak and take some heat to become effective which you can't generate on the street. You won't need racing pads for your first couple events.

2. Use brake fluid like motul 600

3. Bring your torque wrench, you will need to torque your wheels between runs

4. Set the tune to something close to stock performance. The 335 has known cooling challenges so I would just stick to stock tune for the first day.

The 335 is a fun car on the track. I've tracked mine quite of few times with no issues.

I'll be in a blue Porsche CaymanS. I'll try to catch up with you at the track!

Cheers!

This. There is no good street/track hybrid pads that would work well for our 3500-3600 lbs car with 300-400hp... Not unless you spend a few grands on some 380mm big brake kit, then you might be able to get away with those hybrid pads.

And for the first event, all you need is a torque wrench to make sure the wheels wont fall off. If you enjoy it and really want to do it more often, then it is the time to spend money on pads, tires, and suspension parts.

Your stock fluid will be fine, as long as they are relatively fresh (less than 1/2 year old). You will melt the stock pads before boiling off those fluid, judging from my experience.

Also, try not to get your oil temp higher than 270-280F. If it is starting to get hot, do a cool down lap.

I don't think you''ll need track pads for your first time out but i use the Hawk HT-10's and love them! I would definitely get upgraded brake fluid peace of mind. I use Motul RBF 660, probably overkill but it gives me confidence.

Good luck, Have Fun, and focus on your lines and smoothness speed will be a product of those two things.
I just put the HT-10 on my 128i. I really enjoyed them at Summit Point, but holy hell do they make noise on the street!

What is idea tire pressure for the Micheline Pilot Super Sports?

For a beginner, I would start at around 38psi (front and rear) hot and lower it from there and gradually understand/feel the differences. Even after many track days, I can barely feel the difference between 34 and 35psi on my R888s (largely due to the fact I always have changing factors/conditions).
I was keeping mine at 37 hot on all corners this past event, it got the job done. 38 would work too. I was setting mine to 32 before I went out, and they consistently heated up to 37-39 at the end of the session

Thanks for all of the advice guys. One quick question. I am almost due for an oil change...I'm right around 4500 miles since my last change. Should I get this done before, or wait until after the event?

I would. The oil can get up to 280-290F with stock oil cooler. It is better to get some fresh oil in there to take the beating instead.

It will be fine either way but since you plan on doing it soon anyway I would just do it.
