C5 Corvette Wheels on 335xi
I have (2) Z214-C71 275/35-18's on 18x9.5 C5 wheels with a 65mm offset that I run on the back of my C5 for autox. I'm looking at getting some Z214-C71 tires for the front on 17x8.5 wheels with a 58mm offset.
I'd like to run the same wheels and tires on my 335xi for autox. I did a fit-up on the rear with the 275/35-18's and they would fit with a 5/8" spacer. A 1.25" spacer would keep the center line close to stock but wheels would extend pas the fender pretty far. I think a 1" spacer would be best. The front looks more tricky. OEM wheels/tires are pretty much flush with the fenders. There is about 9/16" of clearance between the strut and the tire. The max back spacing is probably around 150mm. A 16mm spacer should make just enough clearance for 17x8.5 wheels with a 58mm offset. An 18mm spacer would be a safer choice for clearance. With an 18mm spacer and 17x8.5 wheels with a 58mm offset, the front spacing would be farther out than OEM. I'm pretty worried about increasing the front spacing that much. Who has mounted 8.5" wheels on the front of a 335xi? What offset did you use? What size tires did you run? 225/45-17 or 245/40-17?

I ordered 18mm spacers for the front and 1" spacers for the rear. That will make both the front and rear ~40mm offset. Im leaning towards the 245/40-17 in the front but nobody has any c71's in stock right now. More to come.

The rear spacers came in the mail yesterday. I did a fit up and it fits but the tire is pretty much flush with the outside of the fender. There is a lot of space on the inside. Im going to try a 12mm spacer instead so the chances of hitting a body panel is reduced.

Nice, makes sense camaro owners have been using BMW wheels in the past.

BMW - 5x120mm GM RWD - 5x120.65mm (5x4.75") The center hub is different. GM's is 70.3 and BMW is 72.56. If you are using ≥12mm spacer, you can space it out past the center hub so it doesn't matter. This could potentially result in vibrations at highway speeds for a daily driver from being slightly off center....but if you are just running for autox once in a while its no big deal.

I ended up buying new 18x8.5 C6 wheels for $100 each (free shipping) off ebay from "tirewheelblowout". I installed a used set of 245/40R18 Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires which have a 220 wear rating (meets 2015 SCCA street tire rules). I used the 12mm spacers up front and 25.4mm spacers in the rear. There is plenty of clearance all the way around.
They felt a lot lighter than the OEM's. I just weighed the OEM's and they are 53lb with 235/45R17 Nitto Motivo tires. The c6 wheels and tires only weigh 47lb.
