Question Current part number for the sports gearshift with chrome?

I've just got an E91 325i SE and would prefer a somewhat shorter gear lever. BMW advertise that a 'Leather sport gearshift with decorative strip in chrome' is available (http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/ow...oryId=431.html), for which I believe the part number should be 25110406897. However, phoning my local BMW parts department, the guy there said that this part number was no longer available.

Interestingly, the image in the above link shows a gear lever that looks longer than the one listed in this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41680 which is part number 25110404454 (also 'not available', according to the parts guy).

So, are these the same part? Is there a difference for RHD vs LHD? Is it even possible to still buy this from BMW officially? Should I just buy a perforated M-Sport lever instead, or even the alcantara performance lever?

Many questions, much confusion.
