DIY tow hook license plate holder $6
How's it going.
So I liked the way the tow hook license plate position looked. But I didn't like the price tag of the holder. I went to Home Depot, bought these metal pieces for under $1 each piece. And a 5/8" screw 2 nuts and 2 washers. If you don't have the right tools it takes a while. But it's not that difficult. I'll take a picture of the receipt from Home Depot so you can see what I purchased. It's basically bend one piece of flat metal -\_/- get a 5/8 drill bit. Or like what I did. Go around and around with a 1/4 inch one I found in the garage. Use the nuts and washers to secure the bent metal into place. Use the skinny pieces of metal and align it up with the license plate to find out where exactly you need to attatch it. Screw it all together. *im not no customization expert. *i don't guarantee it will hold up forever. *dont blame me if your license plate blows off. It feels sturdy. And holds well. I am going to spray paint it. And it looks awesome |

Nice!!
Question: How do you access/pull out the tow hook? Then, what attaches to it? A bolt or a nut and what size? Thanks! I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

I purchased the 5/8 bolt from Home Depot. Not sure on a exact measurement of the cut. But you can screw it in and check and make your own length. |

not sure what they're called, but they're in the building materials aisle. they're used for joining studs and beams.
