Wheel Set Up - Am I Crazy or is this Ideal?
Hello All,
I wanted to reach out to you all on the e90 community who track tested on this platform what your thoughts would be on such a set-up. I have done countless hours of research, and have not found much so I wanted to see what the thoughts were on this set up, if there were any preferred alternatives and general thoughts. There are a few particulars for the set up that I am trying to hit.
After doing endless amounts of research, I am leaning towards running the Apex Arc-8's in 18x9.5 et22 with 255/35/18 all around. My only concern with this is the low offset. However the next step up et35 will not work without spacers which I am trying to avoid. I also am aware that others have been able to fit 265 and even 275 all around. The car I have is a pre-lci e92 currently sitting on stock suspension, but I have KW V3 coils, vorschlag camber plates, and full m3 suspension sitting in a box as I am wanting to put everything on all at once. This will allow for additional camber. I would just like to gather your thoughts on this and once again see if this will work and whether or not I can push the boundaries further. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks Last edited by Kooshi3; 04-23-2015 at 02:55 PM.. Reason: Added Model |

That won't fit, guaranteed. Rear you might get away with it by pulling/rolling your fender, but you are out of luck at the front since our front fenders are plastic.
ET35 wheels likely won't fit with your KW V3 as well, as KW have thicker spring perches than most on their front struts.

I am running 18x9.5 et25 255/38 Michelin PSS up front and I do not rub. Camber is around -2.75 with Fortune Auto Coilovers/Swift Spring. I could very easily fit a 18x9.5 et22 255/35 without touching camber. I do not rub on anything and am actually decently "low"

FYI, I am running 18x9 ET31 at the front with 255/35r18. It is already quite flush with the fender. At the most, I might be able to squeeze 265/35r18 in there, but I will be running into the risk of rubbing on the fender bolts on track between the bumper and the fender. Also, with aggressive offsets and wider tires/wheels, you are increasing the scrub radius by a lot. So you might very well be rubbing on the front side of the fender liners at full steer lock.

Inside or out?
Inside clearance is very minimal. Everyone said that I could get away with 18x9.5 et32, but that isnt the case for my coilovers. I pretty much went MM by MM til I had "just enough" inside clearance. I would prefer if I had another 1-2MM of inside clearance but everything has been fine and I have a couple thousand miles on the set up so far. External clearance, I can kind of fit a finger in the gap. I do not rub ever though, and I do drive this car very hard.

265/35/18 AD08s with -2.7D, KW v3, 18x9et31 here. No rub up front, sometimes get a little rub in back when I have rear compression setting too low when accelerating out of low speed corners. I use this config because my winter wheels become my backup track wheels. 18x9 supports 235/40 for winter tires.

You guys are running 255's on 9.5 inch rims?! isn't that pretty stretched? because I was thinking about running a square set up as well with OEM rear 8.5" rims all around. should I re consider the 255's on 8.5"rims all around?
