I just noticed something today about my car. If I place my key within 2 inches of the keyhole... it detects that the key is there (Key light illuminates on dash)...

Hmmm..... I wonder if it'd be something as easy as getting addtional receivers to widen the detection range for CA like functionality...

True, but does anyone know if the CA enabled cars have a second authentication process that enables the "key in slot" switch or is it that whole switch just bypassed in CA cars....
