Cloud of smoke, SES light code P0171 and P0174

UPDATE** So turns out the Gasket wasn't sealed properly, like many of you said. My mechanic told me that the place where I got it probably broke the gasket.
thanks for your help guys! I intend to sort this matter out. Hopefully there will be a hassle free resolution.

So for the past couple of weeks my car is having a lot of weird engine problems. Started from replacing all 6 plugs and coils due to misfires. After I had my coils replaced my car started idling rough upon every start up other than cold starts (tachometer would fluctuate for about 5 secs around 600-800rpm.) As a result I replaced my valve cover gasket, but after getting it replaced my car cranks for a long time upon cold start and the rough idle every start up still existed.

Since I had my valve cover replaced ive been constantly getting a SES light and P0171 code and P0174 both are "System Too lean".

Today the SES light came back again and ive been seeing again a cloud of smoke once my car hits 3.5k.

Im really worried and dont have any idea wtf is going on with my car. any suggestions?
thanks and sorry for the long ramble.

UPDATE*
On Tuesday the SES light went off, thought that Shell Vpower may have done the trick, yesterday the SES light came back on after driving it (3000rpm) misfired but then light went off and everything was fine. but today as I hit the gas a little bit (2200RPM or so) A huge burst of thick white smoke came out. No SES light still, but this time the smoke trailed me till I shut off the engine. Once I turned on the car the smoke didnt come out also.

Double check the work done on the valve cover and quality of parts for the coils and plugs

Aftermarket or OEM Coils? OEM replacement plugs? They can be OEM brand instead of BMW but beware of aftermarket coils and different plug designs. There are plenty of Chinese replacement coil packs that are made to a lower standard being sold online and in the local autoparts stores. They have high failure rates.

Too lean codes are either because its not getting enough fuel, thinks its getting less air than it really is (MAF) or isnt burning the fuel being sprayed (coils/plugs). The car has factory widebands so the DME accurately knows how much fuel it is getting.

The lean conditions and the oil leak is likely the fault of valve cover gasket installation; it is pinched somewhere along it's mating surface and needs to be re-done. Make sure that all of your coil packs "click" down onto the plugs.
