bc forged hb04

I'm pretty sure one of my front wheels is bent because after balancing the slight vibration hasn't gone away. I've spotted some 18" BC forged hb04 on sale for $2600 with PSS tires (50% thread). Wheels look nice, but I'm wondering if this is a good buy. Like the concavity and that they are forged so more likely to handle pot holes. I also like that they are 18" as I don't want to change ride quality.

1. Do they fit well on a 2008 BMW 335i E90 pre-LCI?

2. Are they good quality? Stronger than the stock 162 style wheels?

3. Should I go with a different forged wheel?

I have 19x10.5 rear, 19x9.5 front HB04 brush black +25 front and rear offset. My guards does have some work from my previous wheels to fit 20x11 rears

I love them they are a bit expesive though, however I also like the forgster F14 they're nice too if you get the max concave.

Your car looks amazing. The seller is selling them for $2600 with PSS tires (50% thread). These are 18" wheels though. I'll get the specs from him again. I'd prefer not to do any fender rolling etc. Did you notice the ride get harsher with 19" wheels?

i'd ask for $2k for the whole package, use whatever life left from PSS then another tire brand if PSS is too much

Do you think I can ask to install them to make sure that they fit and are not bent (vibrations etc)? Or how does one know the wheel hasn't been damaged before other than taking their word for it?

Ask for the specs then check back here if they look okay to us. What kind of fitment are you looking for, at what height. Some sellers are okay with test driving on their car if it's still on or do a visual inspection. If they are bent after you bought that's the risk we take. If in doubt don't buy it for personal and road safety sake. Just move on and wait for the next deal of wheels and tires. Depending on to damage if any, it's either repairable or beyond repair.

These are the specs:

Brand : BC Forged
Model : HB04
Finish : Brushed Face / Brushed Lip
Size : Front 18x8.5 ET 36 / Rear 18x9 ET 46

I think stock is: 18x8 ET 34 (front) 18x8.5 ET 37 (rear)

Now looking at the wheels and understanding better the offsets it seems that the rear offset is way too high. It should be ET37 or lower. :-/

I am on stock suspension and have no intention on changing ride height. I am looking for an aggressive and balanced look without fender rolling or tire rubbing. 2008 E90 pre-LCI. Would a good spec be 18x8.5 ET 30 (front) or 18x9 ET 30 (front) and 18x9 ET 35 (rear) or 18x10 ET 35 (rear)?

You can just throw a 15-20mm spacer on those rears, maybe a 5mm in front.

I'm not really thrilled about spacers because it feels like a weak point and prone to causing vibrations or other. Maybe I should go with a different wheel set. I guess I need recommendations of what's a nice looking wheel set that is strong for bumps and aggressive/sporty. I'm still not sure about what is the best offset. I'm also not sure if I should go with the square setup.

I've run spacers on bmws and audis for tens of thousands of miles from 3mm to 25mm never had a issue..

I look at your mod list and I wouldn't think you would be the type to worried about wheel spacers..

Where do you get your wheel spacers?

Can one see the spacers? I guess I can live with them if I get a good deal on these wheels. Would less than $2k be low-balling him?

Turner makes nice ones, h and r even cheap ones, they looked like they where left over billet they put on a lathe real quick . They came free with some Rotiforms I bought..

I'm not saying it couldn't happen , maybe you had a bad experience .
I just wouldn't let having to use spacers be a deal breaker.

I just read some people had vibration so I decided not to chance it. But I think that's mostly for spacers that are <10mm. I then thought that maybe under heavy cornering or acceleration something could break, but I guess that's unwarranted.

Given the wheels aren't fulfilling the purpose of custom forge (getting to pick the exact offset), what would be a good price? Can the wheels be put on without spacers until I order them?

I have a set of hb 04 in 19" w/ hankooks I think I would be really happy if I got high $2k for mine.. I saw a set of TA 04 19" for 19" with tyre for $1900. Earlier this year.. So $26hunge for 18" seems like more then I would pay

I would add a 10 mm spacer in the front and 15mm in the rear. At stock height, I think by this look, you'd look square. Wouldn't be too bad, but if it's too aggressive for you, try 5mm front, 10mm rear.

I was skeptical about spacers in the beginning. I bought my E90 with spacers and I didn't know I had them on, after like 6 months of having it. 90% of the time i've owned my E90 for 7 years were having spacers on. Not one issue due to spacers on.

Yeah I think the issue might be if the spacers are >20mm or <5mm. But based on the spacers you recommended I should be fine.

I like the verstrabe spacers. Compared to other brands, the verstrabe have the little openings on the spacers for a flathead to go in between and push them out easily. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=569588 Sonic MS might still sell them. They're in San Jose.

So the person selling the BC Forged HB 04 is willing to negotiate on the price. I'm about to say $2000 based on suggestions here. I forgot to mention that 3 of the 4 tires have had nails and been repaired. So, essentially I am paying for the wheels more than I am for the tires. My hesitation is that they are (1) used, (2) although I like the idea of 18" wheels because I want to maintain a less harsh ride I don't know if these particular wheels will look good (stock 162 wheels look fine at 18"), and (3) I need to buy spacers. Also, do all HB04 wheels have a lip (looks like wheel is sticking outside of tire)?

Trying to figure out alternatives:

What is the difference between Avant Garde BMW Type M359 19 inch Wheels and the OEM 359M 19" wheels? Are the OEM stronger/forged? I know the OEM 359M require fender rolling in the back for LCI 335i, what about for my pre-LCI 335i?

bump

Is $2000 for the 18" HB04 wheels plus tires (although tires were fixed because of nails) a good/fair price? Is the staggered combo of 8.5" width by 9.5" width good for handling? What spacers do I need to get for my pre-LCI E90? I think I saw others running ET35 all around. I don't want fender rolling, rubbing, etc.

Thanks!!
