Lets get all of the 2008 and 2007 guys for dyno comparisons as well as all of the Procede, Juice Box, Turbo Tuners, and maybe by then Dinan tunes and see what kind of power they make.

I put a post up in the regional forums. If you post there I will track how many we have. I don't want to hijack shivs thread.

A member already dyno'ed his 2008 335i and iirc, the reading was rather low...let me find that graph

This is Alpine335i's dyno, max HP 269, max torque 281

Most 335i's dyno HP are in the mid 270's...

I will strap mine up to a dyno once i break it in and see what the readings are

Ya, but if he dyno'd that number whereas the rest dyno about 5 or so HP more, that's not a difference you should be able to feel on the butt dyno, no?

15 or so HP, maybe. But 5ish, I would doubt it.

Yes, we will get to the bottom of this. I invited Jacque from VIP tuning to come and do some runs. I will bring the digital camera to snap some pics of the dynos to upload.

BTW, I do not think the car could in anyways could be slow anymore. Just got home from ripping a new one in a 427R Roush Mustang. Did 1 roll and 2 digs. Gained 1 - 1.5 CLs and pulled each time. Maybe not an experienced driver? But now I am really ramped up to see what my dynos will show .

Was that a 2008? If so then I do not see the claimed power drop after 5500 rpm.

I think the initial problem was with the new progman update. Not just the 2008 in general. iirc

+1...It is the Progman update. The only problem is, the 2008 comes with it off the floor, whereas you 2007 guys have the opportunity to play with power until you get the update.

IDK, I test drove the 2007 auto 335I and XI and was in a 2007 6mt during a friends test drive. When I got my 2008XI, I was more than pleased. It felt like a rocket compared to those. Night and day!! I would be very surprised if it had been detuned. Was the update only for 335I's? Maybe I am lucky and got a strong engine.

Either way, I'm getting JB2, Procede or Helix next spring when my car comes out of the garage more so I'm not too worried.

Nobody knows if the new program is in ALL 2008's.
The first month built 2008's might of had the old program still.
Does anybody know for sure when BMW came out with the new V27 programs?

In any case, if Alpine got 269 rwhp and 281 tq, that's right in the ballpark of what everyone else have been getting on dynojets.
FWIW, in my pre-March built 2007 335i sedan automatic, with only 1220 miles on the odometer, mine dynoed 266 rwhp and 275 rwtq.

I have never dynoed my May 2007 built 335i Coupe when it was stock.

I'd still like to see more 2008's dynoed to see.
Either way, I'm going to do all I can to stay away from this V27.xx.xx reflash from BMW if/when I take my car in for service.

Check out my new dyno thread. Should show some people something as far as the whole "does procede work on 08's?" thing. Not too shabby for neither me nor Kelvin hitting the "full" breakin period.

There were too many variables on your dyno unfortunately. Does anyone have any solid evidence yet?
