Over 13k miles and my first issue....
Well, it was all going so well... Finally had something break/go wrong on the car. I have always been lucky with my new cars. I never had the issues that everybody had with their MkIV VW's ( I owned 2 brand new ones). And now with the BMW, all was well until today...
After coming off the highway and getting to a stop light, the car was idling fine. As soon as the light turned green, as I went to go, my Eisenmann exhaust sounded like a cross between a Harley and a Subaru WRX with exhaust... I had no boost. As I would shift into 2nd, I had a bad ass back fire that made a passenger in the car next to me jump. NO check engine lights.. I pull over to the nearest plaza. Shut the car off, and start it back up. NO CEL's and it idled fine. I then proceed to my way home and all is well. Well, about 4 miles down, I get to another light, and I can hear my idles drop and exhaust get super deep. Finally, the check engine light comes on. I make it home like I was running on 3 cylinders. Exhaust sounding like hell, but for some reason I had a honda guy and a cavalier guy give me thumbs up ![]() As soon as I get home, I put the C-reader on my car that was supplied with my Procede 1.45. It was code p143 I believe... Some sort of misfire, bank one, blah blah blah... I call my work/my dealer and tell them to have a loaner ready for me. I make it to the dealer (which is around 3 miles away) and shut the car off.. I start it back up and it took about 3 tries for it to crank and when it did, the half engine power light came on... I hope it is my high pressure fuel pump or something simple. I just installed V2.02 for the 6mt and it had been great for 4 days. I am still on default settings. Also, I did fill up with Sunoco 93 earlier in the day, so maybe its bad gas... We'll find out on Monday what it is... Thanks for reading the long post

Sounds like yo fuel pump. Now you have me worried, I'm at 9500 miles right now.....*sigh* it's inevitable I guess. Hopefully there isnt a 3 month wait on fuel pumps anymore.

There isn't.. I checked while I was waiting for my loaner and we have one in stock... They are no longer ordered by VIN and should be readily available...

Must be nice! No worries then, just have them install the m5/m6 motor in the car and it should fix that issue right away!

Damn! Well, I guess its a simple fix and it could have been much worse from the way you described it (sounded horrible haha). Glad things got worked out so fast, guess that happens when you work for BMW.
