2007 , e91 335d msport, understeer issue

Hi guys ,

Iv had a search about on the forums , and it seams to be a upgrade that most suggest doing

my driving style sprinted , come from a track car that turns in on the dot to my e91 boat lol

I dont mind the boaty ness of the car (body roll is on the border line, but i have to remember its a tourer im driving lol)

What i cant stand is the understeer , i have noodles of rear end grib but the front lets go way before the rear ever would!, at first i put it down to just being a 335d lump up front ,but the more i thought about it i thought nah , there has to be a way to tune this out

so did a search and everyone says put the m3 rear arm on the rear and see how the car handles then

i dont really want to go the full hog and put m3 arms ect on my car , as the bushs are still all tight , prob will once they start to fail tho lol , but in the main time is it worth puting the rear m3 anti roll bar on to cut out the understreer ?

pn's i have follow

Rear Bar
33552283655
Rear Bushings
33552283709
33552283710

is that all il need ?

Thanks in advance

I put an h&r rear bar with a hotchkis front (on a328 but still) and couldn't be happier. With the hotch rear bar tons of understeer.

M3 arms and selective alignment(knock out pins and less rear camber and choice toe specs will also help

Finally to read someone to give the ultimate driving machine an appropriate discription: a boat.
In stock form new BMW's are disappointing.
Few rules of thumb on handling:
On fwd rear swaybar helps with understeer.
On rwd front swaybar helps with understeer.
However, it needs to be matched with the spring rates or will have negative effect.
For your e91 I would get e93 front swaybar and will go with square setup wheels. 255/35-18 on all corners.
Knocking out the alignemnt pins also helps.

Keep reading about the alignment pins also , does that let you get a few more degrees camber ? what should i be looking for when i go to the alignment shop ?

im not bashing the e9x's , the m3 handles fantastical , just for how hard and crashy the ride is in my e91 (our roads are poor tbh pot holes ect) the car has a fair amount or roll ect

maby try these pins first and see how it drives

Chicago roads are probably worse
More negative camber and wider tire on the front will help more than anything.
I would leave the rear alone since the problem is up front.
