Want downpipes without a christmas tree dash

Im trying to replicate this exhaust
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76713

I really like the tone of the exhaust but saw that he is running downpipes....Is there anything i can do to not get CEL's and limp modes with downpipes? I want to power and sound but dont want the hassle of a check engine light

What can i do?

Yes, I make o2 simms that solve the CEL/SES problem with catless downpipes. They cost around $120 and will start shipping in two weeks.

Run a PROcede and use the built-in o2 simulator output. It's free. Should have the parameters set up soon.

Some cars don't throw the code for some reason. Charlie (CEA3) doesn't throw them either, but I didn't get 10 miles away before I got the xmas tree dash. It might have to do with the ECU version.

O2 bungs are the holes that your o2 sensors plug into on the Downpipe, there are 2 bungs in each Downpipe. My o2 bungs are extended out away from the pipe so that the o2 sensor doesnt sit inside the pipe but 2" out of the pipe so that it tricks the cpu into thinking that there are cats i guess...

Does anyone know if the RR downpipes are still legit or what? I haven't seen or heard a peep out of those guys in weeks.

Cool. Are there extra wires required to intercept?

Yep. You'll need a "Y" shaped wire coming out of the PROcede with the ends going into two ECU slots (for rear o2 sensors). The PROcede already has an o2 sensor simulation output. All I have to do is program the output. Basic waveform but needs to be acceptable frequency and amplitude to keep the ECU happy in a catless environment.

I don't think it's a function of the car's build but the progman version you are running, so as soon as you upgrade the lights will go off, since the benefits of upgrading outweigh the downside of BMW fixing 02 monitoring in later versions - a terry/shiv fix with new progman would be ideal

Or if you want run downpipes with hi-flow cats. I still don't want to break my states laws, because my use is on-road as opposed to where it would be legal off-road.

High flow cats are illegal too, FWIW. As is removing your secondary cats.
