Questions about keyfob operation.

If this isn't the appropriate place for this I apologize.

My keyfob doesn't seem to be operating properly. The other day the car got loaded up with a bunch of friends to attend a Christmas party. I am 6'2" which required me to move the driver seat up to allow a person to sit behind me. I noticed after I dropped everyone off, and returned to my car that my seat did not return to my programed position (position 1 on the seat controls). I checked in I-Drive to verify it wasn't deactivated, but it was set to restore seat to memory on door opening.

Am I confused at how this works? I have read the manual, but it wasn't clear enough I suppose. I am the only driver of my car, and my second keyfob is stored away in my safe in the house. Should I attempt using the second keyfob, or is this a dealer worthy question? Someone also mentioned in a forum that their car welcomes them with the pathway lighting. I assume that it only operates the pathway lighting if you unlock the car. That's the only time I can get it to come on for me. I do have comfort access.

Thanks for your insight.

I apologize. I see the difference now. It only recognizes changes from fob to fob, not changes I make while using my primary fob. I suppose that's why I was given the memory buttons on the seat.

Sorry, I should have experimented more before posting.

Everyone with the comfort access configuration needs tobe careful when BOTH fobs are in the car (like husband and wife each having fobns and both in the vehicle at the same time .....

The system can ocassionally get confused espcially if the passenmger gets into teh car FIRST...

The proximity sensors are supposed to know which is the driver, but .....

On several ocassions I have had my wifes configurations loaded on startup instea dof mine whan I was the driver. The first couple of times this happened realy confusded me bacause none of her settings wer eloaded as she never drove the car. SO all my radio stations were blanked out, as wer every configurable option that is stored in the fob. The car had to be off for 20 minutes befor eitr would re-initialize to mine.

The issue was that she always put her purse next to the console on the passenger side and it appears that it was so close to my fob (in my pocket) that on ocassion the car would get confused.

NOW SHE PUTSW HER PURSE IN THE BACK SEAT !!!
