Converting to Bi Xenon Headlight ?
Hello Bimmers,
Please excuse me if this has been asked many times before but I am totally confused and looking for straight answer I'd like to convert my E90 LCI (2011) headlight to OEM Bi Xenon Headlight , I noticed that there is a website sell the OEM Bi Xenon components , so I'd like to know which part should I buy to convert my normal headlight to Bi Xenon Headlight & how can I proceed that ? I have a set of converted lights up for sale right now. Just need to add ballasts to them. The lenses have road chip wear, but you might be able to take the plastic off of your lights and put them on these and then it would be plug and play. The trick to conversion is having the appropriate skills to work in a confined area of the HID housings to wire them and then get error correctors mounted within the lights. You also should go with an OEM bulb, which I did on my set. Built 6 sets of these while I owned my E90. Just beware when you buy a pre wired set. Alot of people just tape wires together without having the appropriate knowledge of doing it right. That means, a few thousand miles down the road, you end up with wires breaking loose and getting intermittent shorts within the lights and causing failure.

Look at my ad for sale on the forums. Those are Bi Xenon. Just be weary of aftermarket lights. A lot of them use low quality bulbs, housings, etc made in china and don't hold up well.
You are better off getting a pair of OEM lights and converting them yourself or buying a converted pair. Installation is pretty easy actually. Just pull bumper and about 6 bolts on each light. About 3-5 hours work first time. |
