N55/54 Chargepipe
2 quick questions im pretty sure the answer to both is yes just need to make sure.
1. Will the chargepipe of an N54 work with an N55? 2. If a chargepipe has meth bungs you can use it even if you're not running meth correct? TIA

charge pipes for the n54 and n55 you cant use because n55 doesnt have a BOV and the meth bung is just a screw you can have them but not run meth i hope this answers your question

I am actually on a ER charge pipe which my workshop used a N54 on my N55. it can be used. You need to seal the BOV inlets. No leaks. |

Without modification, an n54 charge pipe will not fit in the n55. Meth bungs are tapped then sealed with screws, if you choose to run meth, you take out the screw and put the nozzle in, if you don't, just make sure the screw is tight and it will be sealed.

An N54 and N55 charge pipe is the same in the fact that it will "FIT" into the location but that' where the similarities go away.
The N54 charge pipes will have a BOV or Diverter Valve option which the N55 can't utilize. If you find some way to seal the BOV or DV orifice then it can be used. However, with the prices of a N55 CP starting under $200 I'd much rather do it the right way and avoid any potential leaks. |

The common ones on the market are ER, VRSF, BMS, ETS, etc. All the vendors including myself have these on our sites with prices listed. They start at about 199.00 and go out to 280.00 or so depending on brand and finish and configuration you choose (meth bungs, etc.)
Just make sure you get one that uses the factory C-Clip as there are some that still use silicone couplers to mount to the throttle body. We always recommend the ER charge pipes. Best ones on the market. Mike |

You'd have to block off the BOV ports on the N54 pipe for it to fit the N55 pipes. I personally prefer a chargepipe with a smooth transition from the lower chargepipe to the upper chargepipe.

Can someone tell me what the psi threshold of OEM charge pipe is?
I am planning to get Cobb stage 1+ aggressive map(16 psi), can OEM CP handle it? Or should I play safe with sport map(14psi)? |
