Did they give you any info on the new motor. I am sure they aren't putting a brand new motor in. The shop that messed mine up ordered a motor from lkq and it was a peice of crap it was not well taken care of pulleys were broken and turned out the crank shaft was bent. That one came out and they sent another one which was much better. Lkq gave a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on it.

got the car back today. New engine installed, all new gaskets and fluids. Walnut blasting the intake for carbon build up and a couple of minor fixes to have the car like I was suposed to get when I bought it. All free of charge, official BMW warranty. So for now, I'm happy with their response and hope it all continues as good as it is now.

First off - nice! Great that you got it resolved at no cost to you.

Question - why would you need to walnut blast a brand new engine? Did they only replace the block and retain the head from the old one? If the initial issue was your rod/main bearings, did they do a full flush of your lubrication system? Hate to see them drop a new engine in there and have your turbos go because of debris from the worn bearings or something like that.

Glad they got it fixed man! They probably sourced a used engine with comparable mileage and specs. The condition of turbos would be my only concern at this point.

Yes, the intake is the same so they clean it up.
Yes, they did a full fluids flush too. All gaskets orings, etc are all new as well.
