330D: Possible glow plug related problem?

Can anyone suggest on the lumpy cold idle?
Usually goes relatively quick, sometimes with a few revs.
Seems once the ECT is >30-35degrees C it seems to clear

No faults seem to be appearing

i was thinking glow plug or controller problem but its not necessarily cold here at the moment, 10 degrees c or so in a morning

Idle stumble like that seems to be pretty common on cars with carbon buildup over here in NA. It doesn't usually throw a code until it gets quite bad.
Could be glow plug related but you'd think it would throw a code.

I believe the swirl flaps are intended to smooth the idle on these cars, they could be gummed up as well.
