where to reach out for mods
I'm looking to do egr block along with installing meth kit and possibly ecu tuning. it seems like most of the folks that went this route or forum veterans always say "search the forum"...
can we make a sticky for who/where to obtain the information to get these upgrades done? so far i've been told to try jarek's tune and contact ianknown for egr block kit? |

You have been given pretty good advice.
I agree with you on the whole. It is not easy sifting through all the posts to find exactly what you are looking for. I fear that will ultimately be my reason for leaving this forum. Other forums seem to do a better job with this. It is directly related to active and effective moderation. Moderation has come to mean repremanding and censorship. Good moderation should also catalog and organize. At least that's what I did when I had those responsibilites. |

Not always a bad thing for some of these mod threads to take a little effort to find, if you know what I mean. That's just my opinion though.
Everything you're looking for should be on the 1st page or 2 of the diesel forum, not too hard to find. You're after the JR Auto thread and the EGR block-off thread. There are several meth threads now. And you can PM that iaknown guy..... |

For instance, if you search for VW TDI EGR Delete, you'll discover that they're all "out of business", although you may find many postings from 2000 or so, before the crack-down. |

paths less traveled but worth consideration are as follows:
EGR cooler removal, DEF tank removal (after SCR deactivation), catch can installation, EGR throat hogging out (though we know of little direct benefit on this one), EGR motor decapitation and 1/8" NPT tapping for pressure measurement. Intercooler upgrade Exhaust replacement (though this one is starting to catch on) Shitcan the airbox and replace with a conical filter/breather And OF COURSE, the air scoops :-) Last edited by BB_cuda; 07-01-2015 at 08:40 AM.. |
