this used to be so easy, Injector replacement questions.
I searched a bit, but couldn’t come up with an answer…
So yesterday the car started running rough, ‘service engine soon’ light came on etc. checked the codes and came up with 29cf, misfire cylinder #3. I plan on swapping coils and checking plugs tonight, but if I decide it is the injector, I will replace it. The car has a late ’06 build date and the current injectors are Pn: 1353753317-08. As far as I know, these are the original injectors. My questions are: • If I go with the newest pn, 13538616079, can I replace just the injectors in the bank, 1-3, or do I need to replace all 6 of them? • Also, I have found new 13537585261-(10 or below) on ebay, if I get one of these can I just replace the bad one? • My final option would be the generic, Standard Motor Products FJ1050's, anybody have any luck with these? And yes I know whatever i do the calibration # will need to be coded when done. Thanks in advance. If this is in the wrong spot, let me know... im new here. |

Get them from rock auto they are original BMW but say generic. Plenty people use them. Only $110.
I think the latest ones are ending with -12 but I could be wrong

You can do it in bank as I have done it • Also, I have found new 13537585261-(10 or below) on ebay, if I get one of these can I just replace the bad one? Yes. You can mix match any injectors with index 10 or below, higher index injectors need to replace in banks or all 6 |

Mixing injectors with index 11 and 12 is OK. You can't mix injectors with index 11 or higher with index 10 or below in the same bank.

oh so close.
I was so focused on the injector last night that i missed the cracked valve cover and puddled oil. in my defense i was also in a dark driveway using a cell phone flashlight to read the part#, and i knew the cover was weeping so i wasn't shocked that it wasn't totally dry in there. Any way, five of six plug wells were full of oil. cleaned everything up and put #3 coil in the #1 spot (the only dry one) and the car seems to run fine. idles smooth and rev'd to 5k without CE light . i'll take it for a drive tomorrow, wife has me parked in right now. still stuck with a $400 dollar and multi hour repair, hey that's better than $700. |

You can do one bank at a time. Make sure you get new decouplers too.
